Wellness Workshops

 

The following are available for staff, faculty, and retirees FREE of charge:

 

Weight Watchers @ Work - Informational Meeting - register today!

Date: Monday, March 25, 5:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Location: 2300 Delaware, Room B290            

Description: 

April 2013 will be the start of our on-site Weight Watchers @ Work meetings.

We will jump start the program with the Informational Meeting on Monday March 25th at 5:15pm in room B290 at 2300 Delaware.  At that time you will be given a half hour presentation detailing the exciting program.  This meeting is mandatory if you plan on participating in Weight Watchers at Work. 

The 12 week series will cost $156.00 with the members receiving free eTools. Payments can be made with a credit card, debit card or cash to pay for the meetings. We can split the cost into 3 payments of $52.00 each, if payment is made by check.

Have your payments ready during our Info Meeting so that we can start our Week One of the Program that following week, April 1st! Mark your calendars for March 25th and make the commitment to start a new healthier lifestyle through Wellness Weight Watchers @ Work Program!

Regular Meeting Times: This group will meet on Mondays from 5:30 - 6:00 with two weigh in times to choose from (5:15 - 5:30 or 6:00 - 6:15).  This is a 12 week program running from April 1 - June 29.

 

Managing Food Allergies Part 2: What do I eat instead? - register today!

Date: Wednesday, March 27, 12:00 - 1:00 pm

Location: Training & Development Training Room - 1201 Shaffer Road

Presenter:  Jocelyn Dubin, Registered Dietician                      

Description: Come discover the wide world of food options available to those with food allergies. You’ll leave this workshop with tips, tools, recipes, and resources for eating healthy while managing food allergies.

*Anyone is welcome at part 2 or 3 of the presentation regardless if they attended part 1.

 

 

Managing Food Allergies Part 3: Eating Out and Eating While Traveling - register today!

Date: Wednesday, May 29, 12:00 - 1:00 pm

Location: Training & Development Training Room - 1201 Shaffer Road

Presenter:  Jocelyn Dubin, Registered Dietician   

Description: Learn how to make safe food choices when eating out of the house and out of town. This workshop will highlight some of the friendliest places in Santa Cruz and beyond for those with food allergies.

 

 
 

Eat Healthy and Stress Less - register today!

Date: Thursday, May 2, 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Location: Training & Development Training Room - 1201 Shaffer Road

Presenter: Rachel Abrams 

Description:
This session with Rachel Abrams, MD will explore the relationship between stress and food. Stress can lead to impulsive eating choices including sugary, salty, fatty foods and caffeinated drinks. How we fuel our bodies, especially when stressed, can have impact our reactions and ability to bounce back from stressful situations. We'll learn about what nutrients are helpful to relieve stress and how to find more balance when stressed.
